The Nevsky String Quartet |

Anna Chizhik (violin), Vladimir Bystritsky (viola), Dmitry Khrychov (cello) The quartet was founded in 1995 by students of the Petersburg RimskyKorsakov Conservatory. In the years that followed, the young musicians have won a notable artistic name in Petersburg, have been acclaimed by international critics, and have become prize winners of eight prestigious international competitions in Russia, Sweden, Germany, Austria, and Holland. Among the ensembles teachers are Dietmar Hallmann (Leipzig), Reiner Ginzel (Munich), artists of the Prague String Quartet, the Alban Berg Quartet, the Amadeus Quartet, and Andrey Dogadin (at the postgraduate faculty of the St.Petersburg Conservatory). The quartet's repertoire contains many fundamental classical compositions of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert; romantic works by Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Mendelssohn; quartets of the 20th century composers and present-day authors. The Nevsky String Quartet has CD recordings of quartets by Franz Schubert, Joseph Haydn, Dmitry Shostakovich, and Sergei Slonimsky in Russia, Scotland, Sweden, and Austria. |
